The active role of primary care physicians has been highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, said MP Ng Ling Ling. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 9), she stressed the need for comprehensive primary care as a first line of defence. She wanted to know if the Ministry of Health will consider providing more resources and incentives to encourage general practitioners to step up preventive and chronic disease management for an ageing population.
