Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 6: Shahira Abdullah on a permanent Government office for mental health
The mental well-being of the nation is essential for Singaporeans to reach their full potential, said NMP Shahira Abdullah in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 9). At the same time, she noted that factors impacting mental health are complex and cut across many domains of our lives. Dr Shahira asked for updates on the work of the Interagency Taskforce on Mental Health and Well-being, set up in August 2021. She also asked if it would be more effective to establish a permanent Government office or agency for mental health.
