US-China relations are vital for regional peace and prosperity, said MP Tin Pei Ling. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27), she pointed out that while the US and China are not actively looking for conflict, the nationalistic rhetoric on both sides means that there is a real danger that any miscalculation or accident could potentially lead to an escalatory spiral. While Singapore is a small nation, it can still play its part, she said. She wanted to know how Singapore has engaged the US and China on their strategic rivalry.
