Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Cheryl Chan on climate disclosures by the Government

Singapore needs instruments to monitor and measure the climate targets set on a continuous basis, said MP Cheryl Chan. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1), she wanted to know if the Government plans to provide disclosures annually to send a strong signal about its commitment to combat climate change. She also asked about the allocation of allowances for carbon emissions. She wanted to know the estimated volume of allowances the Government is planning to issue as part of the transition framework and how the volume will be calibrated over the years.
