Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Koh Lian Pin on domestic recycling and carbon offset integrity
Domestic recycling is an important part of Singapore's sustainability journey, said NMP Koh Lian Pin in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1). He asked the Government to share the outcomes of initiatives such as the pilot programme involving transparent recycling bins and dedicated recycling chutes in HDB blocks. On the issue of carbon tax offsets, he wanted details of the quality considerations and criteria for identifying eligible carbon projects' host countries, carbon crediting programmes and carbon accounting methodologies for carbon tax offsets in Singapore. He also asked what the Forward Singapore movement has uncovered about how Singaporeans want to contribute towards a greener, more liveable and climate-resilient Singapore.
