Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 4: Patrick Tay on helping ex-offenders get back into the workforce

In Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1), MP Patrick Tay offered three suggestions to help ex-offenders reintegrate into society and the workforce. They included incentivising and encouraging employers, businesses and trade associations to hire ex-offenders and offer them internship opportunities, as well as for the Ministry of Manpower and career placement agencies to provide career coaching and mentoring services to these jobseekers to minimise a mismatch in expectations.
