As the world shakes off the shackles of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for air travel has increased tremendously, said MP Melvin Yong. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), he wanted to know how the Ministry of Transport (MOT) plans to ensure that Singapore’s aviation hub can ride on this long-term growth. He also wanted to know how MOT will ensure that Singapore does not lose its status as the region’s premier air hub. He asked for an update on the plans for the new Changi Airport, and how MOT intends to attract talent and plan for a steady pipeline of workers for the aviation sector.
