Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 5: Xie Yao Quan on increased grant for first-timers buying resale flat
In Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), MP Xie Yao Quan welcomed the Government’s move to increase the housing grant for first-timers buying a resale flat. However, he asked for a fuller assessment of whether the move might drive up resale prices even more. He also wanted to know why the increase is S$30,000 for a four-room or smaller flat and S$10,000 for a five-room flat, as well as what the fiscal impact will be.
