Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 6: Henry Kwek on increasing health spans and longevity
Studies have shown that various preventive measures can extend people’s health span - the length of time they spend in good health. However, a lot of work is needed to turn cutting-edge research into clinical and lifestyle interventions and it will take time to convince and train local healthcare practitioners to adopt longevity science. MP Henry Kwek said this in Parliament on Friday (Mar 3). He asked what efforts have been made so far, and for an update on the longevity clinic set to open at Alexandra Hospital this year. He also asked how Singapore’s healthcare professionals can be better equipped with knowledge for this growing field of healthcare.
