How best can the talents of the Malay community in Singapore be harnessed so that it is an inspiration and motivation to build a community of success, and can be recognised for contributions to the nation? MP Mariam Jaafar asked this question in Parliament on Monday (Mar 6). She said the Malay-Muslim community is a diverse one, with many brilliant talents. However, it still faces challenges and niggling issues such as deep-rooted prejudices. However, rather than let these issues cripple its progress, Ms Mariam said it has become a role model on how to manage challenges and diversity as a community.
