A hallmark of MENDAKI's programmes has been the mobilisation of volunteers in the Malay-Muslim community which signals a cooperative spirit in achieving success for the community, but more can and needs to be done. MP Mariam Jaafar, who said this in Parliament on Monday (Mar 6), wanted to know what can be done to reduce the barriers that prevent students and parents from enrolling and benefiting from MENDAKI's programmes. She asked how the quality and consistency of their involvement can be improved. She wanted to know how support can be stepped up for children at an earlier age. She also wanted to know how MENDAKI can continue to work with the community and other self-help groups to pool resources and conduct joint projects.
