Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 1: Ng Ling Ling on marriage, parenthood and life choices
In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 28), MP Ng Ling Ling said the annual average number of marriages and births over the last five years has remained lower than that of the preceding five years. She asked what other proactive and innovative approaches the Government is exploring beyond financial support to cope with the demographic challenges. On life choices, Ms Ng asked if the Government could consider embedding financial education related to family planning and fertility health in Singapore’s Institutes of Higher Learning.
