Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 2: Edward Chia on relations with China and India
Singapore’s relationships with the two global powerhouses of China and India are vital to ensuring continued economic growth and a provision of good jobs for Singaporeans, said MP Edward Chia in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 29). Amid China's economic and demographic changes, as well as the geopolitical tensions disrupting its trade and supply, Mr Chia wanted to know how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) plans to maintain relations and deepen strategic partnerships with China which extend beyond traditional economic realms. He also wanted to know how Singapore ensures that it remains steadfast and consistent in its relations with China and India.
