Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 2: Patrick Tay on Home Team transformation and manpower
In Parliament on Thursday (Feb 29), MP Patrick Tay noted that the Home Team is facing a spectrum of challenges with the growing complexity of crimes as well as a tight labour market and slowing workforce growth. He wanted to know plans for the Home Team’s transformation to meet these exacting challenges and requested for an update on the rollout of the Singapore Police Force’s suite of services. He also suggested that the Ministry of Home Affairs find ways to engage the services of ex-Home Team officers to alleviate the manpower crunch.
