Agri-food producers in Singapore face issues including lease durations, rising costs, lack of economies of scale and a challenging business environment, said MP Poh Li San. In Parliament on Monday (Mar 4), she asked what measures are in place to ease these pressures and attract producers and investors to the sector. She also sought an update on the S$60 million Agri-Food Cluster Transformation Fund which was announced in 2021 to boost local food production through technology. Ms Poh also wanted to know what is being done to increase public awareness and support of local produce.
