MP Ang Wei Neng said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) currently builds covered walkways within a 400-metre radius of MRT stations and a 200-metre radius of all bus interchanges. In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), he said this approach neglects many other major bus stops that are linked to markets, hawker centres, polyclinics and other essential amenities that are not near MRT stations or bus interchanges. He urged LTA to make walking journeys more comfortable and more convenient at all major bus stops across Singapore.
