Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 5: Ang Wei Neng on lift access for segmented HDB units and upgrading projects
In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), MP Ang Wei Neng said many of those who live in segmented units bought their homes when they were young. They did not anticipate mobility issues. He asked if more resources can be allocated to install additional lifts in the 140 blocks in Singapore with segmented flats. Mr Ang also asked about the frequency of Budget reviews for upgrading programmes in light of escalating construction costs.
