Young couples from middle-income households looking to settle down soon need to contribute to the finances of their immediate family. Those who are working could take some time to save up for the downpayment for their Build-to-Order flat. MP Henry Kwek raised this concern in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5) and asked if there is more that the Ministry of National Development and Housing and Development Board can do to ease the cashflow burden of this group of young Singaporeans. He also asked for more details on the first Plus project that will be rolled out later this year.
