In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), MP Henry Kwek asked about the upgraded Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) 2.0 programme to make HDB homes more elder-friendly. He wanted to know when it will be rolled out, what criteria will be used to select precincts and when most precincts are expected to be covered. He also asked about the likely features and cost to residents. Mr Kwek also asked more broadly about upgrading public spaces in mature estates under Age Well SG. This is a programme to support seniors to age actively and independently in their communities. He asked what are the key features that will be enhanced, the anticipated timeline and whether HDB will partner town councils to “deconflict” with upgrading work that some are already undertaking.
