MP Sylvia Lim said empowering people early with financial knowledge on private insurance options will instil confidence for unexpected catastrophic medical expenditure. In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), she also said it is important to ensure that the national coverage for cancer under MediShield Life remains meaningful. She asked how the Ministry of Health is working with relevant stakeholders to raise awareness of cancer treatment costs and to mitigate financial toxicity.
