Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 5: Yeo Wan Ling on supporting P2P drivers to use EVs

00:57 Min

As more and more P2P - taxi and ride-hail - drivers move to using electric vehicles (EVs), they will rely on having accessible and efficient charging stations, said MP Yeo Wan Ling. She asked if the Ministry of Transport has looked into prioritising high-flow and rest locations which are convenient for drivers and do not involve parking fees. Ms Yeo also asked if drivers will get financial support to cope with the additional costs of making the transition, such as buying or leasing EVs or upgrading their existing vehicles. She spoke in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5).
