Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 6: Ng Ling Ling on helping lower-income families
In Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 6), MP Ng Ling Ling expressed her support for the enhancements to provide closer family coaching in ComLink+ to facilitate ComLink families’ decision-making and prioritisation of choices, which would provide more social mobility for their children. She asked the Ministry of Social and Family Development what the ratio of family coaches to ComLink families will be as the enhancements are rolled out. She also wanted to know how frequently the coaches will interact with the ComLink families, and what measures will be put in place to assess the effectiveness of family coaching within ComLink+ and how the assessment will help shape future enhancements to the programme.
