Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 2: Lim Biow Chuan on strengthening resilience

01:51 Min

Social resilience is important and is crucial because it helps communities withstand, adapt to and recover from crises that could impact social cohesion. To build social resilience, Singapore needs to foster a society that embraces staying together and staying strong even when under stress. Singaporeans must learn to adapt to new challenges and be ready to contribute to developing solutions to tackle them head-on. MP Lim Biow Chuan said this in parliament on Monday (Mar 3) and asked the Ministry of Defence to share more about its efforts in strengthening society's resilience to deal with emergencies or crises.
