The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) must continually build robust military capabilities to counter escalating threats in an increasingly volatile world and not “wait until conflict is at our doorstep”, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary Shawn Huang. Speaking in the House on Monday (Mar 3), he noted that many countries are increasing defence spending and Singapore has to keep pace. He asked for an update on the SAF’s acquisitions and capability development plans.
