Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 3: Poh Li San on public toilet cleanliness
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 4), MP Poh Li San noted that the Public Toilets Taskforce was set up in 2024 to study and recommend solutions to improve the cleanliness of poorly performing public toilets. She asked the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment to give an assessment on whether the recommendations will be considered or implemented. She also wanted to know how the ministry will get coffee shop owners and operators to sign up for the Toilet Improvement Programme which provides up to 90 per cent co-funding to improve toilet designs, install sanitary fittings, or adopt technology to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
