Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are discouraged from making investments in their green transition because of the current reimbursement model of Enterprise Singapore’s support schemes, said MP Don Wee in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5). He proposed that the agency provide upfront financial support, as well as facilitate the leasing of energy-efficient equipment so that SMEs can claim these expenses without the burden of outright purchases.
