01:04 Min

There will be greater adoption of personal mobility aids (PMAs) with Singapore’s rapidly ageing population, noted MP Poh Li San in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5). She wanted to know how the Ministry of Transport (MOT) will ensure that sellers and users are sufficiently informed of the new regulations which will be implemented and enforced. She also wanted to know what measures MOT has in place to check on and only allow imported devices that meet the regulatory requirements. Will MOT be increasing the recruitment of enforcement officers and tap on technology to deter and identify illegal users of PMAs, she asked.
