Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 5: Louis Ng on increasing annual leave entitlement and tackling migrant worker kickbacks
Many Singaporeans are tired and stressed and it is time to give them more time to rest and recharge by reviewing the minimum entitlement of only seven days of annual leave, said MP Louis Ng. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6), he also highlighted the impact of kickbacks on migrant workers. He stressed the need to treat kickbacks as seriously as corruption. He suggested increasing the maximum sentences to five years’ jail and a fine of S$100,000.
