Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 6: Carrie Tan on ensuring workplace well-being for social service agencies

03:39 Min

Fifty per cent of social service agency employees reported dissatisfaction with their work-life balance, 68.2 per cent reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression and 57 per cent did not feel comfortable discussing their mental health challenges with their HR. In parliament on Friday (Mar 6), MP Carrie Lim cited these findings in a recent survey she and her team carried out. To build a resilient social services sector, she proposed regular “organisational culture pulse checks” to better address emerging issues before they escalate, and mandatory training for broad leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
