Singapore’s public officers will need to have a keen understanding of the rapidly changing global environment, as well as the gumption and courage to question assumptions of their seniors and predecessors to make decisions necessary to seize and develop opportunities, said MP Foo Cexiang. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Feb 26), he wanted to know how the Public Service is preparing its officers to better understand and meet the challenges posed by a changing domestic landscape where there is a greater need of engagement and consultation, as well as a fracturing world order.
