Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 2: Alex Yeo on Singapore and ASEAN
Amid the clouds of geopolitical uncertainty, ASEAN member states recognise the need for greater unity and integration. In this regard, ASEAN has also taken considerable steps forward in recent years, said MP Alex Yeo in parliament on Friday (Feb 27). He asked the Foreign Affairs Minister to share more on the continued relevance and importance of ASEAN to Singapore and the region as a whole, as it takes proactive steps to establish itself as a noteworthy regional platform. He also wanted to know Singapore's role in the efforts to strengthen ASEAN integration, particularly as Singapore takes on the ASEAN chairmanship in 2027.
