Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 3: Elysa Chen on the power of the arts in student well-being

Bring the arts into education to help children grow not just academically, but as empathetic, resilient and creative individuals. MP Elysa Chen, who made this call in parliament on Monday (Mar 2), asked if the Ministry of Education would commission a study on how the arts affect student mental well-being. She also wanted to know if it would partner arts practitioners to address bullying and build socio-emotional competencies in schools.
