Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Terence Ho on access to premium AI tools
Six months of fully- or partly-subsidised access to premium AI tools could make a significant difference in helping people become familiar with and experiment with AI, said NMP Terence Ho in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). He suggested that the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) consider extending the free or subsidised access to a larger group of Singaporeans, such as all mature workers, on a time-limited basis. He further suggested that MOM offer lower-income Singaporean subsidised access to premium AI tools on a longer-term basis, to ensure that AI adoption remains inclusive and does not widen existing inequalities.
