Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Sylvia Lim on cancer treatment costs and coverage
In parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), MP Sylvia Lim agreed that there is a need for cost containment and management of insurance premiums. She noted that on cancer specifically, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has made significant moves. She also highlighted that in April 2025, MOH had recognised that the line between preventive and diagnostic care was increasingly nuanced. She added that MOH had also mentioned that it would issue claim rules to guide practitioners on breast-related surgical claims and she wanted to know the present status of the review.
