Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Yeo Wan Ling on rail development and station rejuvenation, bus network and workforce
As Singapore continues strengthening its rail network, it must recognise that human capital is key to building a resilient and reliable rail ecosystem. And with parts of the network ageing, renewal and upgrading works will also intensify. MP Yeo Wan Ling said this in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4). She sought updates on what rail workers can expect in terms of fair competitive remuneration packages, training and safer workplaces. Turning to bus networks and its workforce, she called for the government to relook bus captains’ pay, working conditions and their career progression.
