In an AI-led world, creative work, sport and cultures will not disappear. They will be even more valuable as distinctly human pursuits, said NMP Kenneth Goh in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5). He pointed out that many artists and athletes face income uncertainty, and asked if the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) could consider strengthening advisory and support platforms for self-employed artists to better equip them in navigating contract negotiations. For athletes, he noted existing schemes to support dual-career pathways, but asked if MCCY can consider strengthening these efforts with more structured support for career transitions.
