Consumers urged to compare electricity price plans, conserve energy amid rising tariffs

Singapore households will be paying more for electricity and gas from July, as the Middle East conflict drives fuel costs higher. The Energy Market Authority is encouraging consumers to compare between the regulated tariff and fixed-price plans, and choose one that best suits their needs. Currently, about 37% of households are on fixed-price electricity plans and the other 63% buy power under the regulated tariff. Meanwhile, retailers are also rolling out new initiatives to help consumers stretch their dollar. Nasyrah Rohim reports.
