Edwin Tong on motion celebrating Olympic and Paralympic achievements

Team Singapore Olympians and Paralympians made a special appearance in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 5), as Culture, Community and Youth Minister Edwin Tong walked the House through their inspiring and uplifting journey in Tokyo. One of them, trail-blazing Paralympian Yip Pin Xiu, will be the first to be conferred a new President's Award for Inspiring Achievement for those who have overcome personal adversity to become positive change-makers. Mr Tong said the Government will continue to grow the base for active participants at the grassroots level and elite athletes on the world stage. It will work hard to foster an inclusive society through "sports for all" to help Singaporeans build deep social connections.
