Europe migrant crisis: Many EU countries calling for talks over migrant influx into Ceuta enclave
The majority of European Union countries are calling for emergency talks after about 60,000 migrants surged into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta. Twenty-two of the bloc's 27 countries urged for an urgent video meeting of its interior ministers in an open letter, after Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez made similar calls to the presidents of the European Commission and European Council. He also denounced the "selfish" response of some of the bloc's countries to the incident. The crisis has reignited debate over migration across Europe, with several nations calling for Spain to be suspended from the Schengen free movement zone. The agreement allows visa-free travel across much of Europe.
