Gan Thiam Poh on Retirement and Re-employment (Amendment) Bill and Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill
The proposed changes under the Retirement and Re-employment (Amendment) Bill will offer more protection to older workers who are able to and want to continue working, said MP Gan Thiam Poh. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 1), he urged the Government to continue to reassure Singaporeans through public education and outreach programmes that the proposed changes will not impact their Central Provident Fund withdrawal age. He also asked for updates on seniors who have been re-employed. Turning to the Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill, he said it will certainly help to provide greater assurance of retirement adequacy.Â
