Gambling may seem like harmless fun, but can be a "scourge" on families afflicted by problem gambling, said MP Gerald Giam. Speaking in Parliament on Friday (Mar 11), he wanted to know the rationale for legalising social gambling and highlighted that the lack of restrictions on minors might provide a "gateway" into problem gambling for them. He asked the Government to take a strong stand against gambling by children, especially in the area of loot boxes.
