In Plain Sight
For the first time in Singapore, over the course of a school year, four mainstream primary schools open their doors to a production team wanting to track the lives of children with varying degrees of visual impairment (VI) studying on their premises.
Across three episodes, we meet our protagonists – Sean’en, Mihran, Eliot and Tze Csi. How do they get around the school premises? Do their non-VI peers get along with them? How much more difficult is it to learn with non-VI peers? Can they even be friends?
Over the months, the children, their families and the school staff share their most candid thoughts and even the challenges that they face. How do they juggle stress, their studies and society’s expectations; how do various support systems make their lives better? These stories and more are unveiled as we sneak a peek into the lives of these special children in plain sight.
