Indonesia braces for another day of unrest as govt seeks to review protest demands
The Indonesian capital of Jakarta is bracing for another day of unrest tomorrow — the deadline for the government to fulfill demands of protesters. Student demonstrators have been pushing for a meeting with the government to find a way forward, after a week of unrest. Before tomorrow's deadline, the House of Representatives is set to review a list of 17 short-term demands laid out by demonstrators. This includes an additional eight reforms, which they say must be fulfilled by next year. Anger over economic inequality and enhanced privileges for lawmakers has brought about a new movement known as 'Brave Pink, Hero Green'. Chandni Vatvani reports.
