Kenneth Goh on Singapore Sports Council (Amendment) Bill
The Singapore Sports Council (Amendment) Bill strengthens the sporting ecosystem, broadens participation and inclusion, uplifts standards and professionalism, and sustains high performance sports, said NMP Kenneth Goh. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Jan 13), he said even as Singapore expands opportunities for participation and inclusion, it must be careful not to spread itself too thin. He stressed the need for a pragmatic and strategic approach guided by a long-term view of elite sport development. He added that Singapore must expand the funding available to the sector and suggested exploring more ways to make it more attractive for private sector partners to donate.
