Changes outlined in the Corporate and Accounting Laws (Amendment) Bill show the government is committed to improving the business environment in Singapore and enhancing governance standards, said MP Lee Hong Chuang. However, he pointed to manpower and cost pressures that SMEs may face in implementing new regulations. In parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), Mr Lee made several suggestions to address this, including tiered compliance requirements, phased implementation, and capacity-building and financial support.
