Not having a mobile phone in hand does not erase the risk of drivers interacting with mounted phones and being dangerously distracted, said MP Lee Hui Ying. She asked how the authorities intend to discourage this, citing a one-tap policy in other countries to prevent drivers from scrolling. In parliament on Tuesday (Aug 4), Ms Lee also suggested that the government work directly with taxi and ride-hailing companies to speed the adoption of hands-free navigation and voice assistant tools by drivers.
