Leong Mun Wai on Public Defenders Bill
In Parliament on Monday (Aug 1), NCMP Leong Mun Wai commended the Government on the Public Defenders Bill to improve access to justice for the underprivileged and voiced support for the general scope of offences that the Public Defender's Office intends to cover. He urged the Government to do more in providing legal aid. To be eligible for criminal legal aid, he suggested raising the per capita gross monthly household income to S$2,200.
