Between August 2020 and December 2022, the Singapore Global Network Funding Programme (SGNFP) disbursed around S$570,000 and supported close to 300 ground-up efforts around the world. About two-thirds of the SGNFP applications were successful for events such as networking sessions, forums and partnership on digital content creation. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling, who gave this update in reply to an MP's questions in Parliament on Monday (Feb 27), said these have supported efforts in broadening and deepening overseas ties and networks with family and friends of Singapore. The programme has reached out to around 25,000 participants in more than 20 countries where many overseas Singaporeans are based.
