Low Yen Ling on supporting local companies for post-pandemic growth
Over the last two years, an average of about 3,840 firms were de-registered each month, while an average of more than 5,000 new firms were registered each month. This reflects an increase in the number of businesses operating in Singapore despite the impact of COVID-19. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling gave this update in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 3). In reply to an MP’s question, she also said the Government is helping businesses prepare for post-pandemic recovery by strengthening Singapore's physical and digital connectivity, and supporting them to capture new and emerging opportunities.
