Malaysia’s Anwar spoke with leaders of Thailand and Cambodia over renewed cross-border fighting
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says he has spoken with Thai and Cambodian leaders and appreciated their openness to continue peace negotiations. US President Donald Trump also planning to speak with leaders of the neighbouring countries, to rescue the truce Washington helped broker. Thailand says, however, that talks should not begin with a third party and insists Cambodia must first change its stance and formally request negotiations. Cambodia says it is ready to talk at any time, adding it wants peace and has acted only in self-defence. Jagruti Dave with more from Washington DC.
